Eco-Friendly Gift Wrap - Beyond the
Newsprint

Last week we talked about reducing and reusing in order to
wrap holiday gifts in an eco-friendly fashion. It’s not
surprising that for many of us this brings to mind images of
yesterday’s newspaper taped around a box and newsprint
stained fingers smudging black all over new holiday
presents. You can now say goodbye to those images and say
hello to ours! Take a look at Green Guy’s recent photo.

Remember when we talked about using an outdated or
unused map as wrapping paper? Green Guy did just that
and took a picture to show off the fact that green gift wrap
can be stylish. The map came from the basement and the
band around the package is a cut from a brown paper bag.
The bow is made from a strip of left over map that is folded
accordion style, tied in the middle, and then fanned out.

There are numerous routes you can take with the "wrap in a
map" idea. Whether simple or elaborate, they will take you
on the road to a more natural mindset. Just using a
naturally found object to wrap a gift results in less gas used
to run to the store, less wrapping paper purchased and then
tossed in the trash, and more originality which may inspire
more people to follow in your footsteps.

Think about it, and blog us your ideas and comments. If you

gift wrap ideas are posted, just sign up for our eco-tips.
Until we chat again, that’s a wrap.
